Week of Jan. 21st

There is no school on Monday in honor of  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  We spent last week learning about how important this man was in the United States of America.  This week we will be reading The Quilt Story and work on comparing and contrasting, syllables c + le.  Our focus in Language Arts will be adjectives.  In Math we will continue geometry focusing on translations, reflections, rotations, symmetry, plane shapes, and solid figures.  In Health we will start learning about the human body and systems.  Arts projects will include learning about Jim Dine and painting some heart art.  Please welcome Miss Ellen Rambour.  She will be student teaching in 2nd grade for the next 10 weeks.  We are so excited to have her.
