Week of May 6th

This week we will be reading Jingle Dancer while working on character, plot, and setting.  We will be focusing on the prefixes mis and mid and working on paragraph writing.  In Science we are continuing to learn about the life cycle of a chicken and hopefully will have some chicks peeping this week!  On Friday is our annual Walk the track day for diabetes.  It is a fun filled day full of activities promoting fitness.  Please feel welcome to stop and see us at the new complex at the high school.

Week of April 29th

This week we will be reading Cowboys while working on suffixes as well as cause and effect.  We will be working on how to use commas in a compound sentence.  In math we will continue working on 3 digit addition and subtraction in Math.  Thursday is our fieldtrip to Morrill Hall and Memorial Stadium.  It will be a blast!

Week of April 22nd

This week we will be reading A Birthday Basket for Tia while working on tion and ture words.  We will also be focusing on drawing conclusions.  On Monday we will celebrate Earth Day.  In Science this week we will be focusing on embryology and exploring egg parts.  In Math this week we will be working on adding 3 digit numbers.

Week of April 15th

This week we will be reading Red,White, and Blue while working on inflected endings and fact and opinion.   We will be working on writing our dinosaur reports and making dinosaur diorammas.  Quotation marks will be introduced as well.  Jane Esau will be visiting our classroom to start an embryology project.  It should be exciting!!!

Week of April 8th

This week we will be reading Just Like Josh Gibson while working on contractions and comparing and contrasting.  We will be researching dinosaurs and will start writing reports on a favorite dinosaur.  We will also be working on using capital letters appropriately.  In Math we are working on place value, number patterns, and comparing 3 digit numbers.  Science and Social Studies will focus on fossils and using map skills to locate where dinosaur fossils have been found in the United States.

Week of April 1st

No School on Monday!!  This week we will be reading The Signmaker's Assistant, working on aw, au, augh, and al words, and realism and fantasy.  We will also be learning about contractions.  In Math we will continue to use data to create different types of graphs.  In Science will will start learning about dinosaurs and how our earth has changed over time.

Week of March 25th

We will be reading the story Horace and Morris but Mostly Delores.  We will be working on ph and gh for the /f/ sound and author's purpose.  We will continue to work on different kinds of pronouns and our add on stories.  In Math we are working on graphs and interpreting data.  In Science we will be learning about Natural Resources and how our earth has changed.  No school on Friday.
