Officer Soldo and Soter
Thanks so much to Officer Soldo for teaching us about his dog Soter and how he searches for drugs and missing people. It was a great way for us to celebrate Red Ribbon week and continue learning about how animals help people!

Week of Oct. 28th
This week we will be reading A Turkey for Thanksgiving and working on Drawing Conclusions. We will also be working on words with the long a sound using ai and ay. We will continue working on our class book and learning about possessive nouns. On Halloween we will be decorating some gourds and learning about Halloween safety. We will also have a special visitor this week. A police officer will be bringing his search dog to help explain how animals can help us. In Science we will be learning about what causes a food web to change. Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Week of Oct. 21st
This week we will be reading The Bremen Town Musicians focusing on author's purpose and plurals. We will be writing our rough draft for our class book. Please look for forms to sign and return. Plurals that change spelling will also be highlighted this week. In math we will continue to work on money and start mental math. In Science we are learning how plants and animals live together.

This week we will be reading Turtles Race With Beaver while working on r controlled vowels and sequencing. In Language Arts we will be working on our class book and learning about singular and plural nouns. In Social Studies we will be learning about Christopher Columbus. In Science we will be doing some pumpkin experiments. We will continue to work on counting money in Math.

This week we will be reading Ronald Morgan Goes to Bat while working on contractions and realism and fantasy. In Language Arts the students will be learning about proper nouns, and writing a descriptive paragraph. In math we will finish up place value and start on money.
