Week of Nov. 11th
Next week in reading, we will be discussing the
many different ways we can communicate. The students will be reading a
realistic fiction story called Dear Juno. We will be working on
the comprehension skill of drawing conclusions. We will work on the
comprehension strategy of visualizing. In phonics and spelling we will be
focusing on words with the long o sound ( spelled o, oa, or ow). In
language arts we will work on singular and plural nouns. We will also
continue working on writing a narrative paragraph. We will learn about
Veteran's Day on Monday. Second graders will continue learning about
Native Americans next week during social studies. We will especially
focus on the Plains Natives who used to live in our region. During math
class we will learn to add two-digit numbers to two-digit numbers, regrouping
as needed. Have a great weekend. Please keep encouraging your child
to read at least 15 minutes every night and study their spelling words
